Temperament, Size and Personality
Temperament- Every hunter is looking for that light switch personality American Lab and every regular pet owner is looking for that calm in the house pup but exciting outside friend. What we have found here at Whispering Creek is that the British Labrador breed for the most part is exactly that. All of our labs get their 5-10 minutes of energy burst out of their kennels and then its smooth sailing the rest of the day. Interesting…but I want a lab with drive for hunting or playing outside not a couch potato. This is where that light switch personality everyone is looking for comes into play. Bring out a toy, ball or training bumper and watch your pup fill with drive to please you in every way.
Size- Another factor that makes British great for some is the size. Our line of labs fall into that 45-60 pound range for weight. This is great for in the house or in the boat. We call our smallest lab our little black bullet because she is only 42 lbs of pure muscle but her drive and quickness in the field is second to none. So if you are looking for that Diesel or Tank dog we may not be right for you.
Personality- Now this last one isn’t exclusive to the British Lab but we find our line of labs have great personality and unique traits. We find that our labs are very happy dogs that just love to be with you all the time. Just like most labs they follow you from room to room because you really are their whole world. One cool feature our original dam and now one of our newest imported stud has is … they SMILE! Now this isn’t exclusive to every pup we sell but if you are one of the lucky ones, you’re just that, lucky! There’s nothing better than coming home from work to a dog smiling ear to ear happy to see you. If you aren’t lucky enough to get a pup that smiles, don’t worry, that tail wagging hitting every object in site will surely do the trick.
One last thing we find to be awesome about our dogs is their appearance. We feel they fall in the middle of an American lab and those more blocky headed English Labs. Take a look at the pictures of our breeding stock and I think you will agree on just how beautiful they are.
