Puppy info

Where is my puppy raised- we raise all of our litters in two home environments.  One in Monticello and the other in Corcoran.  In both of these homes the puppies receive handling each day with not only our super dog program, but kids and even a daycare setting.  In both of these settings we send home puppies that are very socialized with people, kids and even other dogs.

Genetic testing-  Here at Whispering Creek we want the healthiest puppies possible going home to new owners.  We accomplish this by only breeding dogs that are genetically clear of the major genetic issues that face the Labrador breed.  Under the Stud and Dam section you’ll see all the genetic testing that’s completed.  Along with genetic testing we also have our dogs hips, elbows and eyes checked.  We use all this information to make responsible breeding decisions and is the basis for our 30 month hip and health  guarantee.

How much is a puppy?  We charge $1500 for our puppies male or female.  The puppy will come with 36 month health guarantee, a health check up from our vet, deworming, first set of shots, micro chip start, and sometimes we send home a toy or blanket with the pup.  A $250 deposit will hold your spot in the picking order.  On pick up day the remaining balance of your puppy will be due. If you have not already paid for the rest of your puppy via Venmo @damonhessig, paypal damonhessig@yahoo.com, or check before this date, you will need to bring cash to pick up day.  We will give you a receipt for your records upon payment.

Mostly Refundable deposit-  Your deposit will hold your spot in the picking order and will be refunded if something were to come up.  The only time we will keep your deposit is if you were to fail to show up to pick up your puppy.  In this case we will use your deposit to find a new home for the puppy.  You may send your deposit in the mail at 13919 Clementa Ave NW Monticello MN 55362 or via venmo @damonhessig.

Picking order- Here at Whispering Creek we have a running deposit list.  When you send your deposit we may ask for preference on color or sex but this does not affect how the pick order operates.  Once a litter is whelped and healthy we call the running deposit list first and you will have a few options.  You can pick an available puppy based on available puppies, decline and stay on the running list, or decide to have your deposit refunded and be removed from the list.

When can I visit my puppy-  At around 6 weeks the puppies really start to get their personalities.  For this reason we hold off on visiting the puppies until 6 weeks.  When the puppies are born and stable, we send out an email of all the important dates coming up for your puppy, in that email will be the puppy pick out visit date.  If we don’t have a lot going on, you may request a visit sooner but you may just see sleepy puppies.

When will my puppy go home?  Can I pick up my puppy early?  We send our puppies home at 8 weeks old.  We don’t allow our puppies to go home early than 8 weeks for a couple reasons.  One we want to make sure the puppy gets fully socialized and two our vet wont health check a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.  We try to post lots of videos and photos of the litter as they grow up.

Microchip start- we will start the microchip process by implanting a microchip in your puppy.  All you have to do is pay for the registration of the microchip and your puppy has a better chance of being returned to you if for some reason it becomes lost.

Partial papers-  Here at Whispering Creek all of our puppies are sold with partial AKC papers.  What does that mean?  Your puppy will be able to do anything available to it in the AKC besides the registering of a litter of pups.  Why won’t you offer full papers?  Our line is very young and we want to make sure we are producing the best possible British Lab and for that reason at this time we are only offering partial papers.  *We can discuss paying a set amount of money for full papers.  Or if you can title your dog senior or higher and complete all genetic testing we can discuss releasing the partial paper status.
